Who is Emre Yasin Dündar?
Emre Yasin Dündar was born on February 26, 1989, in Konya. He completed his primary education at Barbaros Primary School, followed by Mareşal Mustafa Kemal Middle School, and graduated from Selçuklu Anatolian High School. At the age of 18, he began his professional career, working successively at Temar Construction (2007), Büyük Konya Construction (2008), and İnci Architecture (2010). During his career, he obtained various certifications through training programs. For his father’s business, Zirve Driving School, he acquired certifications in Traffic, First Aid, and Driving Instructor Training and worked there. While continuing his professional life, he graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Selçuk University. His undergraduate thesis (217 pages) focused on the design and construction of a new rail transportation route in Konya, integrated with the existing light rail system, to address the transportation issues of the Alaeddin-Adliye Campus of Konya Metropolitan Municipality. He then started working at Okkalar Construction Inc. (2015).
In 2017, he joined the military service and completed his 6-month service as a gendarmerie commando private in Mardin. Afterward, he worked with Architect Ali Uzunefe at Uzunefe Architecture in Şişli, Mecidiyeköy, producing various construction projects for Istanbul and its surroundings. During this time, he began working as a Civil Engineer at Anadolu Birlik Holding (TORKU), where he had the opportunity to bring numerous high-quality projects to life across the country. He participated in the construction of cold storage facilities in Antalya, Muğla, İzmir, and Istanbul/Anatolia, as well as stores and grain silos in Konya. He also worked on the construction of the Konya Food and Agriculture University campus, completed under the holding. He finished his master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety while working on the university construction. Through the holding’s subsidiaries, Sivas Electricity Generation Inc. and Soma Electricity Generation Inc., he also entered the energy sector. He handled document tracking between the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, General Directorate of National Estate, General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, and the holding’s affiliates. He participated in coal exploration activities in Balıkesir for Soma Electricity Generation Inc. and developed a Flue-Gas Treatment (FGT) project for Soma Electricity Generation Inc., though the project could not proceed due to cost constraints.
In 2018, he completed his master’s degree in Occupational Safety at Selçuk University Institute of Science. He was appointed as a Regular Officer in the Naval Forces Command by the Ministry of National Defense, leveraging his engineering background. He received various military trainings at the Machine School Command-Derince Training Center and the Naval Forces Command Yıldızlar Surface Training Center. He served as a Marine Machinery Officer on the TCG Kemal Reis (F-247) Frigate at the Gölcük Naval Base. Due to the long duration of naval duties and personal reasons, he voluntarily resigned from his position as a regular officer and left the military.
In early 2020, Dündar began working on construction projects at S.S. Nirvana Park Housing Cooperative and later served as a Site Chief at S.S. Kerimdede Housing Cooperative under Karatay Municipality. By the end of 2020, he started working at Tepekent Architecture and Construction Inspection firms. He left his job in December 2022. In 2022, he enrolled in the Real Estate and Real Estate Management program at Selçuk University Vocational School of Social Sciences.
In 2023, he began his master’s degree in Hydraulics and Infrastructure at Konya Technical University Graduate Education Institute. He conducted studies on the Urban Infrastructure Impact Analysis Model in Plan Amendments and Urban Transformation Applications.
Following the devastating earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the disaster of the century on February 6, 2023, he was appointed as an engineer at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey and began working on the reconstruction efforts in the disaster-affected provinces.
As of January 2024, he transitioned to the Presidency for Urban Transformation, established under Law No. 6306 within the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey, and continues his work there.
